Together – Let’s keep the Carnival Thriving
Watchet Carnival isn’t just about the Parade and Fete, it’s also about a whole host of fun community events we put on throughout the year. Be it visits from Santa Claus, a coffee morning fundraiser, wheelbarrow race, “afternoon tea”, or the Carnival Queen competition, there is something for everyone. All money raised from these events help us to donate to good causes and keep going and growing. We very much appreciate your continuing support and kindness. Check out our upcoming events below.

Watchet Wheelbarrow Race

Location: The Esplanade
Watchet's wackiest, funniest, amazing creatively entertaining, crowd pleasing, spectacular 'Circuit de Watchet' wheelbarrow race. Race starts at 2.00 p.m on the Esplanade with grid action from noon. Minute by minute wheelie action. "Who will secure pole position?" Don't miss all the excitement.
2019 Carnival Queen Competition

Our "Carnival Royalty" is an integral part of our Carnival tradition and a wonderful opportunity to be involved in and promote your community and represent your town. Its free to enter and open to entrants living in Watchet/West Somerset Area. All applicants must be prepared to participate in Watchet Carnival Parade on Saturday, 27th July 2019 and ride along the route on the Royal Carnival Float. The newly appointed Carnival Queen will also attend various carnival events and fundraisers throughout the year. Watchet Carnival Queen 2019 and her attendants will be chosen on Saturday, 29th June 2019 at Watchet Football Club. Entry …
