Together – Let’s keep the Carnival Thriving
Carnival is a special occasion of happy celebration, fun and enjoyment – making smiles and happy memories – promoting positive vibes and social connection. Although the main event takes place over the LAST WEEKEND IN JULY, it is also about a whole host of fun community events we put on throughout the year, that carnival feel-good experience depends as much on you as it does us – be it Christmas Eve visits from Santa Claus, a formal special event, themed social gatherings, tasty homemade sweet and savoury fundraisers, a coffee morning, wheelbarrow race, “afternoon tea”, music quiz. There is something for everyone and all the money raised from these Watchet Live CIC events help us to donate to good causes and keep going and growing. Wheelbarrow Race

Location: The Esplanade
Wheelbarrow Race, Sunday 24th May 2026. Race starts 2.00 pm. on The Esplanade. Team Categories:- Men's, Ladies, Mixed, Fancy Dress. ALL RACE SPACES HAVE BEEN FILLED. The grid line-up will be announced nearer the time and updates will be available on Watchet Annual Wheelbarrow Race. Teams of 2 take it in turn to sit in their racing barrow and visit pitstops around the Circuit de Watchet. Great atmosphere. Spectacular Fancy Dress. Fun-tastic. Not to be missed!

Tea By The Ritz, Saturday 13th June 2026, Watchet Phoenix Centre. Two table sittings: 2.30 p.m. & 4.15 p.m. Please come along for a wonderful quintessential afternoon with delicious sandwiches, freshly baked scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream and a fine selection of cakes and bakes. It's Time for Afternoon Tea - dress up for the occasion if you like. Adult £10.00, Children £5.00 under (12). Table bookings - please contact Sandie on 01984 632783.

WATCHET CARNIVAL WEEKEND *Friday 24th to 26th July Sunday July 2026* : - FREE event; bringing people together, showcasing our wonderful town and community with a full programme of superb entertainment and fun activities for everyone of all ages to enjoy. Further details to be announced. Friday 24th July - 'Music & Song' Evening on The Esplanade. Saturday 'Fiesta' 25th July in Watchet and on The Esplanade. Sunday Fayre 26th July (12-5pm) on Watchet Memorial Ground.
